Sr. Pastor • Great Faith Church
Greetings in the mighty name of Jesus! I am filled with excitement and expectation as we close out this year. We stand on the edge of a new time, a fresh opportunity to renew our passion, reclaim our energy, and position ourselves to finish strong—ready to take on new territory in the year ahead. This is a divine invitation to rally and give our all to God’s vision at Great Faith Church. This isn’t just about closing the year; it’s about stepping boldly into the future God has promised.
Rekindling Our Faith and Fire
Over the past months, many of us have faced challenges that may have drained our energy or dulled our commitment. Now is not the time to grow weary! God has given us the strength to press forward, to reclaim the faith and enthusiasm that first filled our hearts. Galatians 6:9 urges us, “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” This is our due season, Church. We are being called to rekindle the fire within, to rise with renewed purpose, and to finish this year with a passion that will propel us into the promises God has for us.
This is not just another end-of-year season—it’s a God-given moment to restore what has been lost and renew our dedication to sowing, serving, and building up His Kingdom. We are called to bring our best to God with our time, talent, and treasure. Together, let’s lean in, rise up, and finish strong!
Creating Momentum for New Territory
At Great Faith Church, our mission is crystal clear: to make Jesus irresistible, to create a culture that hungers after God, to connect people with His love, and to reach as many as possible through every means available. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” As we trust Him completely, God will guide us to reach new heights and accomplish things beyond what we thought was possible.
We have been called to finish this year strong, with a heart set on taking new ground in the coming year. God has big plans for us, and each of you has a role to play. Let’s fulfill our mission with full hearts rooted in faith and a relentless pursuit of His vision.
We are preparing to step into this new territory with:
Our Intentional Sowing: God’s Kingdom is built on generosity, and Proverbs 11:25 says it clearly: “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” Let’s end this year by sowing with a renewed spirit of faith, giving generously of our time, talent, and treasure. Your generosity is a seed planted in God’s fertile ground, and what we sow today will bring forth a harvest that will equip us to reach even more people in the days ahead.
Our Purposeful Serving: God has gifted us with unique abilities to serve His Kingdom. Romans 12:6-8 reminds us, “Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them.” Serving is not just a duty; it’s a calling. Let’s close this year by serving purposefully, whether within our church, community or wherever God places us. When we serve, we shine His light, draw others to Him, and strengthen the foundation of our church family.
Our Active Engagement with the Vision: Hebrews 10:24-25 calls us to “spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together…but encouraging one another.” We are stronger together, and each of you brings something irreplaceable to this vision. Let’s engage fully, attending gatherings, supporting one another, and rallying together to see God’s plans fulfilled. Your presence and involvement matter and your commitment has an eternal impact.
Unity and Impact Beyond Measure
By committing to finish this year strong, we’re setting the stage for a new season of growth and impact. As Ephesians 4:16 says, “From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” As we each do our part, united in purpose, God’s love and blessing will flow through us, empowering us to accomplish more than we ever thought possible. When we’re united, our effort and impact are multiplied.
Standing on God’s Promises
Our commitment is anchored in God’s promises. Philippians 1:6 reassures us, “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” God has started something great within us and our church, and He will see it through to completion. We are also reminded in Deuteronomy 1:11, “The Lord, the God of your ancestors, increase you a thousand times and bless you as He has promised.” We stand on this promise, knowing our obedience and dedication will lead to supernatural increase and blessing.
Step In with Us
Today, I invite you to step into the final seven weeks of the year, full of faith, fully engaged, and ready to make an impact. Whether you’re called to give, serve, or engage in support, your part is essential. 2 Corinthians 9:8 says, “And God can bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” Let’s respond wholeheartedly, knowing God will honor our faith and multiply our efforts. I have several events that need your support. After this letter, I will attach a calendar of critical dates, and I pray you will consider participating in them. Together, let’s finish strong and ready to launch into the future with power and purpose!
Entering a New Year with Bold Faith
When you commit to this vision, you’re not only supporting Great Faith Church; you’re positioning yourself for God’s blessings and purpose in the coming year. Isaiah 40:31 promises, “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.” By closing this year in strength, we step confidently into the new year equipped and ready to soar. Let’s enter 2025 with bold faith, knowing God is with us and has already paved the way.
Our Dedication to You and God’s Mission
As your pastor, I am committed to walking alongside you every step of this journey. The leadership of Great Faith Church stands ready to support you, pray for you, and equip you to fulfill God’s call on your life. We are dedicated to this mission, and we will see God’s promises fulfilled in powerful ways. Philippians 4:13 reminds us, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,”—and that strength is available to us as we work together in faith.
Preparing for New Territory and Greater Victory
As we close out this year, let’s prepare to celebrate what God has done and look with expectation to the new ground He’s calling us to claim. Ephesians 3:20 assures us, “Now to him who can do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power at work within us.” God’s power is within us, Church! We are standing on the edge of something extraordinary. Let’s finish this year with strength, unity, and passion, positioning ourselves for a powerful and impactful new year. The best is yet to come!
As a reminder, I have attached a Faith Confession and key date calendar of events after the conclusion of this letter that will assist you in supporting Great Faith Church’s vision with your faith participation.
Thank you for your faith, commitment, and love for Great Faith Church. Let’s possess all God has for us as we finish strong, ready to take on new territory in 2025!
Making Lives Better By Faith
Pastor Patrick Ligon
The Discipline that Overcomes Fear Confession:
Father, thank You for calling me into a new relationship with discipline. I embrace discipline as an act of my love for You, knowing that as I bring order, structure, and obedience into every area of my life, I am aligning myself with Your perfect will. I choose to go above and beyond in my prayer, sowing, communication, and relationships out of love for You. I trust that breakthroughs are released as I obey and strongholds are broken.
These moments of enforced obedience are seeds of blessing that will impact my life and future generations.I renounce all fear, for You have not given me a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind. I refuse to agree with darkness or let fear shape my words. Instead, I boldly set the atmosphere of faith, speaking only what I desire to see and declaring what You reveal.
Thank You for opening my eyes with a new vision and giving me the clarity to hear Your voice in more profound ways. My steps are ordered by You, Father, and I walk confidently, free from the manifestations of fear—no more procrastination, delay, or complaint. My life is decluttered and filled with bold faith.
I declare that You, Lord, are my light and my salvation; I have nothing to fear. You are the strength of my life; whom shall I be afraid of? I stand secure in Your love and power, knowing I am deeply rooted in You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
“For the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he chastises every child he accepts.” (Hebrews 12:6, NIV)
“If you love me, keep my commands.” (John 14:15, NIV)
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control. (2 Timothy 1:7AMPC)
“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1, NIV)
