Embracing Your Assignment...Right Now

Written By: O. Falade

"Stop treating your job like it's just a waiting room for your next blessing" - Pastor Patrick Ligon

I dreaded my job. Last year I was spending countless nights blindly applying for positions I hoped were better than my 8:00 to 5:00. I couldn't figure out why God wouldn't miraculously get me out of it. I thought I knew enough. Had done enough. I felt overlooked and forgotten.

I was frustrated, tired, bitter, upset, and hurt until the Holy Spirit gave me a plan for promotion.

So, if you desire promotion, let's get you in faith for the next level that God has for you! #YouGotThis

1. Work Hard for God
Bosses don’t control promotion. God does. He sees and will reward you for all that you do. Begin to show up early, work in excellence, follow instructions, smile, focus, keep integrity, etc. If your boss won’t promote you, God will find one who will.

2. Humbly Embrace Your Assignment
In the words of Pastor Patrick, stop treating your job like it's just a waiting room for your next blessing.  Everyday, you're demonstrating to God your work ethic and integrity with the job he gave you. Show God that you can outperform in any environment!

3. Exercise Faith & Patience
In the words of Bishop Ben, if your promise isn’t here yet then you're not ready, it’s not ready, or God is waiting for the perfect moment to prove something to the world. You can't rush God. I've tried and it never works. What does work is exercising patience so you can handle promotion when it finally arrives. It's not time to quit because, when you finally breakthrough, you’re never going back.

4. Apply Diligence
If you're believing for promotion, where's your new resume? Put some action with your faith! Upgrade your resume, cover letter, LinkedIn, etc. Ask God where he wants you to work, apply, and then apply some more!

5. Obey God
Grace doesn't excuse the fact that we have to obey and reverence God. God doesn't want to promote us to levels where our behaviour is exposed or causes failure. If God told you to do something, in any area, just do it so he can bless you. He wants to! Don't be the one thing standing in your way.  #AllSmiles

Overcoming Unemployment

Written By: O. Falade

The truth is that you always win. The reality is that life can hit hard enough for you to forget this fact.

Seriously, no matter how long you’ve experienced unemployment, you must remember that your faith fight is fixed in your favor. Pastor Patrick Ligon always says that "God knows exactly what he is going to do." We see this explained in Jeremiah 29:11 which states:

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

You are not a has-been, a one-shot wonder, a wash out, or something worth being discarded. You’re fearfully and wonderfully made. You are more than a conqueror. You are God’s prized possession and he has a plan for you. Unemployment simply can’t change this fact.

So yes, you may have experienced feedback in the form of a job loss, but extended unemployment is not God’s will for you and I don’t see onee scripture that says unemployment is God’s judgement either.

Where you’re at, is not your end. Whether you, the devil, others, or uncontrollable circumstances caused your unemployment, there’s hope.

So, here are three steps to get you in faith for reemployment.

1. Believe in God’s Love

The Cultivating Your Garden post said it perfectly. You got to believe that God loves you, is fighting for you, and wants you to win. Relax and trust God! He has great new opportunities for you! Remember, don’t let the devil trick you into thinking that unemployment is God’s punishment either.

2. Be Bold Enough to Accept God’s Correction

In some many cases,  my unemployment was caused because I did something I shouldn't have. If you can’t relate, feel free to skip to step three. This step may not apply to you.

If it does, relax. Accept God’s correction, make the necessary adjustments, and move forward in integrity. There’s still hope. God deliverance is not predicated on who did or didn’t cause your unemployment. It’s based on his unwavering commitment and love for you.

3. Boldly Dream Bigger & Speak

Don’t let your unemployment dictate the size of your dreams! Believe for full restoration and then some! You just have to continuously say “when there’s a casting down there’s also a lifting up and new opportunities are overtaking me!” So dream bigger than ever before and then let God top that!
